The Veleria Olimpic Sails sail loft was founded in 1980 by Claudio Demartis, Mauro Parladori and Roberto Bertocchi, united by a common passion for sailing.

The first loft covered a mere 150 square metres, and the second 600 square metres, while the surface area of the present plant, inaugurated in 2001, covers 2,400 square metres.

The history of Veleria Olimpic Sails is full of results and successes; successes deriving from the constant research and development undertaken within the sail loft and from the presence of members of its staff in regattas around the world.

Olimpic Sails is today without a doubt the most well-known Italian sail loft in the world.

Olimpic Sails is an independent company and is thus able to choose cutting-edge materials and technology without the restraints of group obligations or strategies. Unlike most of our competitors, which buy in laminates of various types, we ourselves produce Space membranes with threads orientated in any direction, using a new automated machine.

The sails produced by Olimpic Sails benefit from the latest design software which, integrated with simulation software, verify the three-dimensional form of the sail at a theoretical level, and make it possible to simulate the loads it will have to bear at every point of its surface at given wind strengths.
