Olimpic Sails started making Snipe sails more than 20 years ago and the know-how gained over the years has become impressive, helping top sailors to achieve excellent results, including first place in Italian championships in recent years.

In 2003 we started a highly fruitful co-operation with one of the best Snipe sailors in the world: the Brazilian Alexandre PARADEDA. His great experience, combined with our know-how, proved highly successful and resulted in a new generation of sails; these are extremely fast, easy to trim and highly versatile. In his honour, we've named the mainsail models CRC, from his nickname "Careca".

In 2004, to compensate for a higher rig tension now being used by Careca, we released a new, more powerful version of the jib, the AR2-F. At the beginning of 2006, we also began producing the new AR3 jib, which is easier at every level (see details in the models section).

"The wind was heavy: 15 to 20 knots on Friday. We killed everyone with speed and were winning after three races on day one, and this is with my 15-year-old daughter crewing! Water was choppy, surprisingly choppy for a river, but we were sailing at a very wide part of the river. We used the full jib and, as I said, we were very much faster; our speed was a combination of pointing higher and going the same speed."
